Snooker Live Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Snooker Live handles information when you use Snooker Live, Cue Club, FrameWatcher services, notifications, Live Activities, community features, Match Vision, SnookerHQ news options, Apple Calendar sync, websites or web content, and related services (together, the "Service").

By downloading, accessing, subscribing to, or using Snooker Live, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. This Privacy Policy applies to your current and continued use of Snooker Live, including use of older app versions where those versions can still access the Service.

Snooker Live is designed to collect as little information as possible. We do not require an account. We do not ask you for your name, email address, postal address, phone number, password, Apple ID, payment card details, or social media login to use the app.

Some information we use, such as an installation ID, device notification token, Live Activity token, or community post, may still count as personal data under UK GDPR if it can be linked to a person. We therefore treat it carefully and give you in-app controls to view and delete FrameWatcher data tied to your current installation ID.

Who controls your data

Snooker Live is provided by Ricky Stone, a UK-based sole trader, trading as Snooker Live and FrameWatcher ("Snooker Live", "we", "us", or "our").

Contact email: stone.ricky@icloud.com

Service address: available on request where required.

ICO registration reference: ZC103724

For UK data protection purposes, Ricky Stone is the controller for personal data processed by Snooker Live and FrameWatcher, except where another organisation is clearly responsible for its own service, such as Apple, SnookerHQ, a broadcaster, or an external website.

The main privacy promise

We aim to:

  • collect only what is needed to run the Service;
  • avoid account-based tracking;
  • avoid collecting direct identity details unless you choose to contact us outside the app;
  • keep server data tied to an anonymous installation ID where possible;
  • redact sensitive push tokens in app-facing exports;
  • provide in-app data access and deletion controls;
  • delete FrameWatcher data tied to your current installation ID immediately when you use Delete My Data, subject to the limits explained below.

Information we collect or create

Information on your device

The app may store:

  • an anonymous installation ID;
  • app preferences such as theme, onboarding state, events start page, Match Vision preference, button label settings, and similar settings;
  • Apple Push Notification service token cache;
  • Live Activity subscription or push token cache where needed;
  • Apple Calendar event identifiers for season events added by Snooker Live;
  • time zone setting used to request correctly converted data;
  • local state needed to show whether alerts, Live Activities, or news options are enabled;
  • original-user support prompt state, review prompt state, and similar app control state.

Some device data is removed if you delete the app. Some device data can be reset by using Delete My Data in the app. Some settings may remain because they are harmless preferences or are controlled by Apple or iOS.

Information sent to FrameWatcher

Depending on the features you use, FrameWatcher may receive or store:

  • your anonymous installation ID;
  • your device time zone;
  • app version, build number, platform, and operating system version;
  • notification device registration information, including APNS token metadata;
  • match, score, player, event, and SnookerHQ news notification subscriptions;
  • Live Activity subscription records, channel IDs, push-to-start token metadata, and update token metadata;
  • queued or sent notification records needed to deliver and troubleshoot alerts;
  • community posts, feature requests, issue reports, votes, reports, blocks, status information, and public anonymous author IDs such as SnookerLive#123;
  • original paid user last-seen metrics and support prompt events;
  • privacy export and deletion request results;
  • server logs needed to operate, secure, debug, and protect the Service.

We do not intentionally collect your name, Apple ID, email address, payment card details, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, health data, or advertising identifier through the app.

Information you choose to provide

If you submit a community post, feature request, issue report, report reason, or support message, we process the text you provide. You should not include personal data, confidential information, payment information, passwords, tokens, or another person's private information.

If you email us, join Discord, contact Apple, visit SnookerHQ, open broadcaster/watch links, or use another external service, that service may collect information under its own privacy policy.

Why we use the information

We use information to:

  • provide live scores, fixtures, rankings, player pages, event pages, match detail, Match Vision, and app content;
  • keep preferences and app settings working;
  • register and deliver notifications and Live Activities;
  • let you follow matches, players, events, scores, and SnookerHQ news;
  • sync season events to Apple Calendar when you choose to do so;
  • operate community feature requests, issue reports, votes, reports, status updates, and moderation;
  • review community text for safety, abuse, spam, personal information, and app relevance;
  • identify original paid users and understand anonymous original-user activity;
  • process support, privacy, and deletion requests;
  • protect the Service from misuse, abuse, fraud, scraping, security threats, or unlawful activity;
  • debug, maintain, improve, and measure the Service.

Legal bases under UK GDPR

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the app features, Cue Club features, notification choices, Live Activities, community features, and support you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, debug, improve, protect, and understand the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: where iOS or the app asks for optional permissions such as notifications or Apple Calendar access, or where you choose optional features such as SnookerHQ news notifications.
  • Legal obligation: where we need to comply with law, regulators, court orders, tax, accounting, App Store, or legal record requirements.

You can withdraw optional permissions through iOS settings or in-app controls where available. Withdrawal may stop the related feature working.

Community text review and Vision checks

Community submissions may be reviewed before or after submission using a mix of local checks, on-device Apple Foundation Models through SwiftFM where available, server-side checks, user reports, and manual moderation.

The app may use on-device review to help identify abuse, spam, personal information, off-topic content, or unsafe requests before sending content. If local review is unavailable, content may be submitted for server-side or manual review.

Review tools are not perfect. We may still approve, reject, hide, delete, edit, or review content manually.

Who we share information with

We may share or process information with:

  • Apple, for App Store distribution, subscriptions, purchases, refunds, push notifications, Live Activities, Apple Calendar permissions, device permissions, and iOS platform services;
  • FrameWatcher infrastructure and hosting providers needed to run the server-backed Service;
  • notification delivery systems needed to send alerts;
  • SnookerHQ or external websites only when you open their links or receive news links, subject to their own policies;
  • support, development, legal, regulatory, or security providers where needed;
  • law enforcement, courts, regulators, or third parties where legally required or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Service.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not provide your app data to advertising networks for targeted advertising. We do not use an account-based profile for advertising.

Third-party services

The Service may link to or depend on third parties, including Apple, SnookerHQ, broadcasters, YouTube, Huya, Discord, websites, event organisers, data sources, and network providers.

Those third parties may collect data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their privacy practices.

If you open a third-party link, subscribe through Apple, request a refund through Apple, manage notification permissions through iOS, or use Apple Calendar, that activity may be governed by Apple or the relevant third party.

Data retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless we need to keep it longer for legal, security, accounting, dispute, abuse-prevention, or platform reasons.

Most server-backed app data is tied to your current installation ID. Some operational logs, security records, notification outbox entries, or backups may exist for a limited time where needed to run and protect the Service.

Community content may remain visible until deleted, removed, moderated, or deleted through privacy controls. If you delete data tied to your installation ID, community ownership and related records may be deleted as part of that process.

Apple purchase and subscription records are controlled by Apple and are not deleted by Snooker Live.

Delete My Data

The app includes Delete My Data, which asks FrameWatcher to delete server data tied to your current installation ID.

When server deletion succeeds, FrameWatcher immediately deletes the relevant server records tied to that installation ID, including notification device records, notification subscriptions, Live Activity subscriptions, community posts, votes, reports, original-user metrics, and support prompt events, subject to technical and legal limits.

After server deletion succeeds, the app performs a local privacy reset. This may:

  • remove local notification token cache;
  • clear local Live Activity subscription/cache data;
  • clear server-backed local state;
  • clear original-user support prompt metric state;
  • best-effort remove Snooker Live-created Apple Calendar event references and events where permission is available;
  • generate a new installation ID.

Delete My Data does not:

  • cancel App Store subscriptions;
  • delete Apple purchase history;
  • delete Apple subscription records;
  • reset Apple notification permission records;
  • delete data held by SnookerHQ, broadcasters, Discord, Apple, or other third-party websites;
  • guarantee removal of Apple Calendar events if iOS permission is unavailable or the event is outside Snooker Live's control;
  • remove emails or messages you sent outside the app.

If deletion fails, the app should tell you. You can try again or contact us.

View My Data and export

The app includes View My Data, which asks FrameWatcher for a summary and JSON export of data tied to your current installation ID.

The export may include server-held categories such as notification subscriptions, Live Activity subscriptions, community records, original-user metrics, and related metadata. Push tokens are redacted in app-facing exports.

The export is provided to help you understand what is held. It may not include data controlled by Apple, device-only settings, external websites, or information that cannot reasonably be linked to your current installation ID.

Your rights

Depending on your location and circumstances, you may have rights to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • access your data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • erase data;
  • restrict processing;
  • object to processing;
  • data portability;
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the type of data, legal basis, and circumstances. We may need to keep limited information where required for legal, security, dispute, abuse-prevention, accounting, or platform reasons.

You can exercise in-app rights through Privacy & Data where available. You can also contact us at stone.ricky@icloud.com.

You can contact the ICO at https://ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how your data protection concern is handled.

Children's privacy

The Service is for users aged 13 or over. Users under 18 should have parent or guardian permission.

We do not knowingly ask children for names, email addresses, account details, or direct identity information. Community submissions should not include personal data from children or about children.

If you believe a child has provided personal data that should be removed, contact us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. However, no app, server, network, device, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, passcode, iOS version, and app version secure and up to date.

International processing

The Service may use technology providers, platform services, hosting, or infrastructure that process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we aim to use appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Apple and other third-party services may process information according to their own international transfer arrangements.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If changes are material, we may provide notice in the app, through a website, through the App Store, by updating the document date, or by another reasonable method. Continued use of the Service after updated terms apply means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and manage or cancel any App Store subscription through Apple if needed.
